This Pulser lost watchers

OK, this one wins in the “very annoying gallery image” category. Right after Heather48IQ.

Their watchers are actually decreased on the last 2 days. Hmm… Each count on the x-axis is 15 minutes. This graph covers Jan 6 to Jan 15.

They have a slightly different implementation of the “force affiliate cookie” trick.  (update Feb 5 – I understand the official term is “cookie stuffing”.)

First they entice you to click on this link:

When you click that link, it takes you to

Basically, you get an eBay affiliate cookie on your machine when you visit their site.

This site is kind of unique – even the stolen eBay images are unusual. Usually the 2nd tier Pulser sites are all the same.

  1. How do you figure out the number of watchers on the auction???
Would love to know the secret. I thought that was only for the seller to view.

  3. Just wondering. WHY would auction watchers decrease? Also how has ebay not stomped on that affiliate cookie stuffing. Seems like with that many hits they would be stopped… Sad to see a pulse auction that is for charity using cookie stuffing 😦

  4. Has anyone wondered how the eBay pulsers are going to survive May 2008 feedback changes? This will surely put a damper in sales of eBooks listed on eBay the traditional way…. because they risk one sided feedback, which I bet would escalate the amount of negatives. Sure they can do classifieds (where they can avoid feedback altogether), but now they might have to actually sell stuff on eBay just to get some feedback. You see, their listings won’t show if they don’t have feedback. It’s an interesting catch22.
