Another eBay Pulse manipulator – Kekoa64 challenged by seller jjfjq

Filed under: eBay pulse — estreet @ 11:08 am
Tags: , , ,

This listing has gathered over 50,000 watchers in 8 days. Kekoa64 has a challenger: eBay seller jjfjq (Josh Kulp) has a few tricks up his sleeves. Perhaps he’s been reading The Puls8r’s paper.

Josh Kulp Watchers

So how are jjfjq’s sales?

He sold $3,352 in eBooks on eBay from Nov 3-Dec 2, 2007. That’s $100 per day not subtracting the eBay final value fees. His listing claims you can make $1400 per week or $200 per day so supposedly he sells an equal amount off-eBay. His feedback is very good so I guess the buyers are happy with his product.

Josh Kulp has been working at it for a long time and I do think he is knowledgeable.

Is this a scam? Probably not.
Can an average person make $1,400 a week? Probably not.

Perhaps Kekoa64 or jjfjq is The Puls8r?!?

Update 12/19: Hah! Caught them.

  1. Hi,

Just becuase they are able to make the pulse doesn’t make them manipulators.

Michelle, I used to use your services, but I am starting to see a different side of you. You are writing about the same thing OVER and OVER again, and it is quite frankly getting a little disturbing. You need to get past it. I don’t think I am alone on this either. You are a grown woman, act like one.

It is almost as if you envy them and have no life of your own. I think you need to concentrate on your own business, there are more important things in life to worry about.

    Think about it.

  2. Dear Ashley,

2 eBay listings have over 1,000 watchers, 1 from Kekoa64 (65,000 watchers) and 1 from jjfjq (51,000 watchers). Both of these sellers employ the tactics outlined in The Puls8r’s paper, “How the Pulsers Make Their Fortune”. Do the math for yourself.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Kindest regards,

  3. This is Josh Kulp. Interesting post, but it’s not accurate.

I’ve never read the ThePulse8’ers paper.

Yes, the average person can make $1,400/week. IF THEY APPLY THEMSELVES. This is a real, legit, business. There is no magic wand to wave, just steady work towards success.

  4. Josh,

It’s excellent that you’re here. Please enlighten me on this one point.

How do you maintain 50K+ watchers on your listing after the listing terminates? How did MysteryGiant start a listing with 67.5K watchers? They only had 100 hits to the listing yet an enormous amount of watchers.

As for your product’s claim, well, just call me “below average”.

BTW, you are clearly above average in knowledge and ability. šŸ˜‰ You, kekoa64 and MysteryGiant all found this post in no time.

  5. Michelle: Well I can’t give away my secrets now can I?

My question to you: Where do you get the estimated watch counts for the auctions??

  6. Nevermind, I just answered my own question.

  7. Hi Michelle,

I can’t speak to the Pulse issue you bring up, but there are ways to know rather quickly that you are being mentioned online. One way you may be aware of is to set up Google Alerts for your name, website, product name, etc. That way, when Google comes across new information with the keywords you want to be alerted to, you get an email with that information. I know many people that do this so they can always see right away what discussions or information they or their information is appearing with. If you don’t know how to set up Google Alerts, you can buy my eBook called “How My Wife and I Cracked The Code And Make $100 Per Hour With Google Alerts” – just look for it on the Pulse section of eBay (sorry, couldn’t resist šŸ™‚

Another way is that other people tell you that you are being discussed. That is how I found your site because this specific post on your blog was being discussed in a marketing forum (, a forum that both Kekoa64 and Josh visit (not sure if MysteryGiant is there since I’ve not seen anyone with that name there).

So, it does not surprise me that any of the above people found this post right away. I’m sure there are numerous other ways they could have found this post so quickly, including their own customers telling them since this is eBay related and they sell eBay stuff, wouldn’t surprise me if a customer of theirs pointed out this post either.

    I wish you success!

  9. HI, I read the info you’ve posted but I have done my homework.
First the number of watchers at over 60,000 for Kekoa64 is correct, but the auction watchers are rigged.
First I did studies on this and to average 50,000 watchers would be equal to having over 2.5 Million hits per auction.
But lets remember bandwidth…ebay will not allow 2.5 million hits on an auction. And if the truth be known it would take over 3 million hits for kekoa64 to pull off those numbers….E-bay can’t afford to let everyone have this kind of bandwidth.
Also I studied Kekoa64 hits per month to his website at 1.2 Million for 3 months, still not enough numbers at to pull this off.
Next…’s funny but these guys no longer post their hit counters, the reason why is because they have more watchers than hits.I noticed this last year when I complianed to them…they then removed their counters.
Also there is a program floating around that creates about 2000 fake ebay accounts a day in foreign countries like India so ebay can’t track them. Then when the auction is over these guys delete the fake accounts and start over again.
Also did you ever wonder how these guys make the ebay pulse page in the first 5 minutes of their auctions……well they set their auctions to start…..2 to 3 weeks ahead of time, then start making fake accounts and adding watchers before the auction starts, which I’m surprised ebay hasn’t stopped yet, then after a couple of weeks they have near 30,000 watchers to start maybe more………..if you have a watcher count…..then watch when they post.
I talked to ebay a while back and they want to crack down on these guys, if they are caught they will do years in prison, I just hope it’s worth it to Kekoa64.
Also I have invented a code that can beat Kekoa64,I just have nor used it yet. I do sell a code on my ebay acount that can put anyone on the pulse pages.
    Thanks Heather48DD

  10. There is another way to do it also……I have a secret X6000 code, it can’t be used on ebay, but by posting this code with the auction numbers across the internet you can collect 100,000 watchers in a few hours, and it’s legal, because it is not used on ebay.
Remember this Michelle, that ebay has 180,000,000 customers, at least 70% of all people online in the USA today has an ebay account. The first thing they do is go on ebay and look around and then pop onto the internet .
BY using my code on the internet these people only have to go into a blog site or a web site, and the X6000 code makes them an instant auction watcher without them knowing about it.
Now imagine 200 Blog sites being run at once.
If you think they use the program you posted…then that’s old news. So do your self a favor Michelle and purchase my ebook….
But I will warn you I own the copyrights, I do not allow my secret code to be published or my ebook, I have international copyrights I own over 42 copyrights… I am telling you how it’s done so you have peace of mind, but please do not publish my ebook, I don’t want to see you or anyone else in a court case………I am giving you the info now that you want so badly. But respect my copyrights please . You can tell people if it works or not, but just do not tell how it works or about my selling tactic’s.
    Thanks Heather
If you really want the truth…follow this link, it will cost you $12.95 but Michelle you’ll know once and for all what Is real….a secret code does exsit….not some simple MakeTrack&item code….but my X-6000 code, do you dare find out the truth…I kid you not, read my feedback…. here’s the link to my auctions

    Comment by Heather Williams — December 14, 2007 @ 2:05 am | Reply

  11. Sorry I forgot to tell you….the code isn’t used on ebay but the internet…..yet it collects tons of watchers for your ebay auctions.
You do have to do some work setting up a few blog sites and posting a few Press release’s Also I post on other peoples blogs sites world wide.
    The numbers go into ebay.
Because of the nature of what I am selling I try not to be posted on the ebay pulse, and ebay allows me then to sell this.
Some people would post this into their ebay html code area and it will work, but ebay would step in. I did try this at first and ebay never band me….they just said we rather you not post it on ebay, but on the internet is fine and legal.
    Thanks Heather48DD

  18. Lol, The “Heather Williams” is actually a guy named Greg Williams who uses big breasted women and unethical practices to get people to click on his item and has them automatically added to people’s watch list. Greg used to be able to get a few hundred watchers I’m sure but his “secret code” is nothing more than selling dreams to people. Think about it, why can’t “Greg” get an auction to the pulse. Because his script is useless. Merry Christmas though. Nice try Greg lol.

I am the EBAY-LEGEND, hell I don’t even need watchers.I can make 1 Million accounts and use them any time I want.

  20. Lol, Busted again. Greg Williams is trying to post of bogus press releases about KEK0A64 around the internet. If you wish to contact Greg his email is so you can question why he is spreading lies around the internet.

He has claimed to be several different people he is not and starts bogus forums in which he answers HIMSELF trying to condemn others. Greg is simply jealous of Kekoa’s success.

In fact if you look at Kekoa64’s profile on ebay you will see he is an honest person with a 99.8% POSITIVE feedback not scandalous feedback as Greg Williams would Imply

    Kekoa64’s feedback

Greg Williams continues to mislead ebayers into thinking his competition is a scam artist when Greg Williams (aka Heather Williams/a legend in his OWN mind as seen in the above posting) is the s*c*a*m artist simply trying to sell people a fruitless script. I will moniter responses and if needed will post Greg Williams’ bogus “press release” and postings around the internet about Kekoa. If you wish to contact Greg his email is so you can question why he is spreading lies around the internet. Grow up Greg Williams you only get so much time on earth. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Use it for spreading truth not lies as you will meet your Maker one day soon I’m sure of it and be accountable for all lies you’ve told and continue to tell.

Kind of let’s you know the mentality of a guy who is always obsessing about boobs and trying to paint the same picture of his warped world into other’s minds.

It’s that kind of FILTH that is deterioriating our society and it’s time America takes the stand against pornographers like Greg who attacK America at the roots. Let him know what you think at

Our children and children perusing ebay don’t need to see some scantily clad Big breasted woman as there is enough trash on the internet polluting the web.

Anyone who tries voluntarily or involuntarily to pollute a society and especially risk polluting the mind of a child for the sake of a quick buck should be locked up for good.

Sheesh…. I guess he is a lonely person desparate for attention as evidenced in previous posts around the internet where he calls himself all sorts of names and pretends to be people that don’t exist and answers himself and I’m sure it will be evidenced in posts to come.

Sure looks like something happened there doesn’t it?

I don’t suppose they will ever make it up here or there will be some sort of excuse. There won’t be any proof as you have started FBI warnings all the way to $25,000,000 Million dollar lawsuit claims in a feable attempt to draw attention to yourself and undermine good people. At any rate Greg your pushing porn and using big boobed girls to try to corrupt people’s minds not to mention what it does to little children if they stumble across your porn. You may as well say I will trade you 48DD’s for a dollar because that is exactly what you are doing. America needs to stand against the pornographers and get back to a less polluted society. 28. You all need to read Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, by T. Harv Eker — then you will learn to admire and honor successful people for their achievments instead of mock them. From page 94 it reads: “… if you resent what people have, in any way, shape or form, you can never have it.”

I truly believe that and it’s why I admire and bless Kekoa64, Mystery Giant and jjfjq (a.k.a. Josh Kulp). They are EXPERT MARKETERS and they’ve found a way to promote their way to the eBay Pulse page. I look at these successful marketers as models to learn from. If they can do it, then so can you and I!

  29. I read the Millionaire Mind. It was very good.

My very favorite entrepreneurial book is The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. Similar ideas, but The War of Art is a little more abstract and off the beaten path.

It is written in short essays covering his ideas on what stops us from doing the great things we are capable of.

He describes predictors of success and failure. An amateur will tackle a project full of enthusiasm, but will soon quit when it turns into work. A pro treats their work as work, forcing themselves into a schedule, outputting on regular intervals – rain or shine.

I started eSeller Street with partners. They quit. I’m still working on it solo. A multi-million dollar company takes 4-6 years of nurturing. 80% of start-up businesses fail within 5 years. That brings up another great book, Before You Quit Your Job by Robert T. Kiyosaki.

  30. Estreet — I thought you were Kekoa64, but you actually have more the writing style of Josh. Whoever you are, I see that you’re now getting those affiliate dollars through Amazon (a great source of passive income). Ka-ching! Good going and best wishes on your business.

Oh, about the buisness… If your friends quit, then perhaps they see something that your eyes do not. That’s why I’m hoping you are DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT with the business model after they left. Just remember that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result.

I don’t believe in failure. That’s because you really can’t fail… you can only get a different result. Okay, I borrowed that from Tony Robbins… but you get the idea. Do something different to get another result or you will be that cute little hamster in the Habitrail treading forward, yet getting no-where.

BTW… LOVE KIYOSAKI. I call him the father of passive income.

  31. Mermaid,

I learned a lot from the experience. It was definitely one of the darkest, most humbling moments of my entrepreneurial experience.

I was forced to take over all of the development and faced a steep learning curve on PHP, CSS, HTML, MySQL, JavaScript, XML, and server configuration. I dug into it and released the product in 4 months.

In the long run, the technical skills are 100% necessary for major success on the internet.

    So what did I learn?

    1. Sometimes people commit too fast because they are caught up in enthusiasm. Like a child promising their parents, “I’ll take care of the puppy.” It only lasts for a short time. Think about it and decide to, “Do or do not, there is no try.”

    2. Push through the dark times. Continue to improve your skills and your service even though there are few prospects on the horizon.
Seth Godin is an excellent author on internet phenomena. He published a book called “The Dip”. He coined the phrase, “the dip”, to describe a lull the business lifecycle. The business person’s job is to determine if the dip will end in the death of a company or growth.

    3. Control your money. Avoid expenses and fees. Use the cheapest shared server you can get away with. Ask for money orders instead of PayPal (2.9%-1.9% fees). Use open source shareware tools instead of buying software. Negotiate everything. Use a free blog service. Get domain names on sale from

    4. Passive income comes from inheritance or a CD or Treasury Note. Everything else requires work, energy, decisions, and maintenance. It’s like saying, “I have a passive marriage.” Sure, people get royalties (think Britney Spears) but they already paid their dues.

If you read this far – Thanks! Let’s have a free drink at eBay Live! this summer.

Estreet… I visited your site the other day and I’m going to suggest that you DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT to explain your site’s purpose. In the five second test nothing sticks out and sinks in. My advice is that you pretend you are telling a friend about the purpose of your site. Record your explanation. Then use those words on your site. You only have around 5 or 6 seconds before someone will click away from your site.

    Best wishes to you all.

What a crock of crap. As Kekoa64s ebook was hacked and put online for free. It is stupid and not worth $10. Buy crap from craig’s list, resell on ebay. But he is a true marketing genius Ill give him that.

  41. is this actually true, the ebay pulse thing and does anyone have a link so i can get this for free instead of purchasing it off that sheman for $10 or whatever heshe is selling it for?

  42. To get on the pulse you need about 300 watchers. I know it becuase a few times my auctions were on the pulse.
Who said 50k? Are you nuts???

  43. Looks like kekoa64 is back using mystergiant’s name to pedal his junk. I have written ebay about all the pulse minipulators. I suggest anybody else who is bothered by it do the same. It’s not fair that the people who deserve to be on the pulse page never get a chance because of these people.

  44. Looks like Josh Kulp has a house worth $375,000… so he’s making some money.

Same house pictures are shown one of his websites…

  45. kekoa64 is gone, mystery giant is gone and your next Kulp. Enjoy it while it last because soon you will be booted as well from ebay. Might want to reconsider selling that house since you will be jobless soon.

  46. Hey Jim Bob… I’m impressed by Josh Kulp … by the integrity of his work, and not by the value of his house. BTW, out here in California you can’t even buy a one bedroom condo for $375,000! Remember a home is not an asset…. It is a liablity! (Read “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” — a Hawaiian I most admire.) I own a $1 million + liablity myself. Uh-oh.

As a PowerSeller, I’m impressed by the likes of another PowerSeller and Hawaiian… Kekoa64, but I’m not buying his latest Web site traffic scheme. Why would eBay buy him out? It doesn’t make sense. He raked in around $10,000 a month on the sale of his eBook and eBay’s would be in a great digital divide if they actually bought him out. I would have laughed if this was published April 1, but it’s fresh from yesterday… your thoughts????????????????????

Friday, April 4, 2008 bought out by eBay Inc.
HONOLULU, HI (PR Newswire) – EBAY INC. based in San Jose, Calif., has acquired and eBay user id Kekoa64. “Kekoa64 – Internet Entrepreneur, eBay PowerSeller” (

Starting May 1st, eBay, and its affiliates, will use the site as a promotional tool. “We are excited at the amazing opportunity to work with Kekoa” says Dennis Breckford, Senior VP of Marketing at eBay, “we look forward to seeing how his ideas can take us to the next level”.

The company plans on a complete redesign of the site and blog. eBay also plans to keep his existing product line, as well as develop new products with him. Kekoa will remain the creative force behind the products and promotions, however, eBay will incorporate their own products in to the marketing mix.

“When eBay first contacted me about the opportunity, I thought it was a hoax, one of those phishing emails” says Kekoa Chung, 24, Kailua, HI. “The funny thing is, I was actually suspended (from eBay) at the time, and I thought it was a bit ironic that they wanted to buy me out. When I learned that it was infact true, I called Dennis and jumped on the idea.”

eBay Inc. plans on acquiring more PowerSellers like Kekoa to promote it’s website to more targeted niches. “This is the first of many more acquisitions to come” says Breckford.

Breckford will not discuss the amount was purchased for, but says that he will “not have to work another day in his life”.

It appears that his shared hosting account was suspended for some reason.

He might be changing hosts. His “me” page pix are hosted there also.
